Isaiah 43:18,19 – “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
God’s call to His people is to not remember the things of old or the former things. Too many people get stuck in the past. God wants us to move forward. We cannot do so constantly looking in the rear view mirror. God announces that He is about to do something new. Hear that today! God wants to do something new in your life, in your family, in your marriage, in your business, in your ministry. God is not tied to your past…you shouldn’t be either. Let go of it. Move into what the Lord has in front of you.
That “new thing” God says will “spring forth.” You get a sense that it is going to happen suddenly, quickly, and will appear with a presence as if it’s been growing all along. There is a minister out there today who needs to get this. You’ve been waiting on something. It will appear as if it has been maturing for some time. You will know it. You will know that this is God’s doing and this is a new thing that marks a new season in your ministry.
The last part of this passage is awesome. God says that He will make a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. The most unlikely places for something to flourish are going to spring up. “it couldn’t happen there,” will be said of where God moves and raises up a mighty work. Where it was once barren will now be fruitful. Get ready…God is about to do a new thing!
