Lamentations 3:20,21 – “I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over
my loss. 21 Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this:
I’m sure all of us can relate to this lament by Jeremiah. There are three words that characterize the time:
1. Awful
2. Grief
3. Loss
Yet in the middle of the mess Jeremiah says, “I still dare to hope… (emphasis added)” He is able to do that because he remembers the following in verses 22 through 24:
The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is His faithfulness.
His mercies are renewed every morning.
The Lord is my inheritance.
Therefore, I will hope in Him!
Wow, with all of this declarations, how can you not hope!
Where are you today? Is it an awful time of grief and loss? Have you been tempted to give up? If so, I dare you…I dare you to still have hope!
