November 3 – Possessors

Psalm 105:11-15To you I will give the land of Canaan as the allotment of your inheritance,’ when they were few in number, indeed very few, and strangers in it. When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people, He permitted no one to do them wrong; yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes, saying, ‘Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.’”

The promise given to Israel concerning possession of Canaan came to them when it was impossible to obtain it. Verse 12 says that they were too few in number and strangers in the land. They were unable to possess it at that time. Nevertheless, God had promised it to them and they would end up living on that property. In the meantime, God provided for them and He protected them. He called them “anointed ones,” and “prophets”.

The fact is God has provided something for you that you cannot possess today. You are not prepared for it and if God gave it to you, you couldn’t maintain it. His word always precedes the fulfillment of His promise. We have to grow into that word. There must come a maturing and a growth to walk in the fullness of that word. In the meantime, God will preserve the promise for us. He will provide for us and take care of us. He will also protect us.

What are you waiting for that you know God has promised you? Be faithful. You will possess it.
