March 26th- Be Careful Out There

Deuteronomy 5:32,33“Therefore you shall be careful to do as the Lord your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. 33You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.”

Today’s devotional in Deuteronomy chapters five and six is worth your reading, rereading, and studying.  It contains some great instruction and promises that can potentially affect you and yours for generations to come.  Let me highlight just a few.

Chapter 5 verse 29 – “Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!” Can you hear the intense desire of God for His people?  He wants things to go well with us and our descendants after us forever!!!

Other instructions are given in order that we may live long on the earth, that they might possess the land and that they might be fruitful and multiply. It really is worth your reading!

And while you’re at it, please do not miss the Shema (“hear”) in Deuteronomy 6:4. It is the essential declaration of faith in Judaism and is worth your study. Go beyond the readings and dig a little deeper.
