Psalm 145:2-4 – “Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. 4 One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.”
This passage in today’s Old Testament One Year Bible reading mentions three things appropriate for us to do before we lay our heads down tonight.
1. “Every day I will bless you…” Today is a day to bless the Lord. After all, hasn’t He blessed you? The scriptures tell us that daily He loads us with benefits (Psalm 68:19). Why not load Him with blessing today from our lips and our lives?
2. “Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised…” I really think we don’t praise Him enough. And when we do praise Him I don’t think our praise is commensurate with His greatness. Extravagant praise? You bet! We serve an awesome God!!!
3. “One generation shall praise Your works to another…” Before we go to bed tonight we should tell our children about God’s greatness, not just in the bible, but also in our lives. Share with them a testimony about your experience. Tell them how God saved you, healed you, delivered you, provided for you, spared you, touched you, rescued you, lifted you, or one of the countless other things God may have done. Declare His mighty acts!
