Acts 27:25 – “Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.”
Paul is on a ship in the middle of a storm. The storm was so bad that verse 20 says that they hadn’t seen the sun nor stars for many days and their ship was being beaten so severely by the storm that “all hope that we would be saved was finally given up.” But Paul received an angelic visitation in the middle of the storm who informed him that everything would turn out alright. When Paul received that word the storm didn’t subside. As a matter of fact things got worse. Their ship ended up getting completely destroyed and they had to cling to pieces of the ship and try to make it to land. All of the passengers and crew on board made it safely to shore.
Sometimes in life you receive a word of encouragement and it’s so hard to hold on to it because the circumstances don’t get any better. If anything they get worse and it’s so easy to let go. I want to encourage you to hold on to that word of encouragement. It may be the only thing you have, but you hold on. And keep confessing through the storm the words of Paul in our verse today, “…for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.”
