December 7 – Share It

Psalm 126:5,6Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Psalm 26 is about the pilgrims returning from exile to Jerusalem (v.1). There is much laughter and joy as a result (v.2).

Our text, while within the context of the above, is especially pertinent to the New Testament church in its mission to reach the harvest of this world (lost humanity). There are several components needed that are highlighted in today’s One Year Bible reading:
“Continually goes forth…” Reaching people who are lost must become a habit. We are here to be a light in the darkness of this world. “…Weeping…” The plight of humanity should move us. When Jesus looked at the city of Jerusalem He was moved. This “movement” should create motivation…a motivation to reach people who need Him. “…Bearing seed for sowing…” You have to take something with you. Jesus identified the seed as the word of God. There is nothing more powerful nor more life changing that you could give someone other than the word of God. Why not share these devotionals each day on your FB page? They may help someone in need.

“…Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” When you go forth with compassion and with the word of God you are assured a harvest. That harvest will bring you joy. There is nothing more satisfying that knowing you’ve helped someone in need…so share it!
