Revelation 22:3 – “And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of
God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.”
Today’s devotional in both the Old and New Testament talks about the subject of curse. In Malachi 3 God tells His people that they are under a curse (v.9) because they have not been faithful to the Lord with their tithes and offerings. In chapter 4 verse 6 God says He will strike the earth with a curse if reconciliation does not take place between fathers and children.
In our text God provides leaves of the tree of life for the healing of the nations that there be no more curse. In Genesis chapter 3 the curse comes because sin enters the world. However, God has a remedy for sin. It is found in the book of Galatians: Galatians 3:13,14 – “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Notice that the reason given in Galatians for the curse to be removed is that blessing might come upon us. We cannot be blessed as long as the curse is in the way. God longs to bless us but the curse has to be removed.
As we leave this year behind let’s leave something else behind: NO MORE CURSE! Let’s tithe so God’s blessing can be on our finances. Let’s be reconciled to our children and parents so God’s blessing can rest upon our families. Let’s embrace the redemptive work of Christ on the cross so God’s blessing can rest upon us eternally. NO MORE CURSE!!!
