Psalm 144:3 – “Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the
son of man, that You are mindful of him?”
David is amazed that God would take knowledge of us given our brevity of life here on earth and God’s greatness, strength and great wonders. How could God possibly think of us as mighty as He is?
There can only be one answer: He loves you. Let that sink in…HE LOVES YOU! God sent His Son, Jesus, born of a virgin, wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger, to bring His love to you and me. He thought that much of you. In fact He thinks about you all the time. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace…”
We know that Christmas is all about Jesus. But that’s from our perspective. From God’s perspective it’s all about us. He came for us. He was born for us. He died for us. He rose again for us. He’s thinking about us all the time…Merry Christmas!
