Matthew 7:20 – “Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”
Before and after this verse are warnings. Verse 15 says, “Beware of false prophets…” Verse 21 says, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ Will enter the kingdom of heaven.” Verse 20 in the New Living Translation says, “Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.”
Jesus is telling us that it’s not about what you say, but rather it’s about what you do. Anyone can talk but it’s more about what you produce. In verse 21 Jesus says that listening to his teaching and obeying it is what will make the difference.
Every day that you are reading the One Year Bible and applying it to your life you are building your house (life) on the Rock (Jesus). That’s a foundation that will never fall.
