Day 40- Dwells Among Us

DWELL AMONG US

Exodus 29:44-46 “So I will consecrate the tabernacle of meeting and the altar. I will also consecrate both Aaron and his sons to minister to Me as priests. 45 I will dwell among the children of Israel and will be their God. 46 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.”

The recent readings in the Old Testament reveal the ordination of Aaron and his sons. It also tells us of the consecration of the priests and their garments. The text above shows us the heart of God. Twice He announces that He will dwell among the children of Israel. This is to be accomplished through the “tabernacle of meeting” (v.44). God’s glory will sanctify and consecrate it. God not only consecrates the place but also the people.

My wife and I attended a Conference in Florida in 2014 and we were staying at a hotel. I was awakened very early one morning and began to pray silently while sitting in the chair next to the bed. I picked up my phone to type a sentence I believe the Lord was speaking to me. This happened ten times in succession very rapidly. As I reviewed them I named them “10 Commandments of Revival and the Supernatural.” The very first one was, “Consecrate yourself fully to Me.” That word “consecrate” has really become a key word since the beginning of the year. I believe the Lord is requiring this from us because of His desire to “dwell among us” and do great things. John chapter 1 verse 14 is a great picture of what this looks like in the New Testament: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt (tabernacled) among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (Note the words “dwelt among us” and “glory”) One thing is for sure: When He dwells among us things will change because His glory will not allow things to remain the same.
