Day 37- Joy Is On The Way

Psalm 30:5“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

The contrast in length between anger and favor is amazing. I’m so glad the long one is favor!

As is anger and favor, so is weeping and joy. We weep because of His anger. We are joyful (Hebrew=a joyful shout) because of His favor.

This Psalm begins with the exclamation, “I will extol You, O Lord…” And there are five reasons in today’s reading for us to lift up praise and worship to the Lord:

1. He Lifts Us Up

v.1 – “I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up…”

Life can knock you down sometimes. It’s good to know the Lord will always be there to lift you up!

2. He Heals Us

v.2 – “O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me.”

Rapha is at it again!

3. He Keeps Us Alive

v.3 – “O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.”

Wouldn’t be here if it were not for the Lord!

4. He Gives Us Favor

v.5 – “…His favor is for life…”

5. He Turns Things Around

vv. 5, 11 – “…Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning…11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.”

This Psalm will cause you to keep your head up all day and keep your mind focused on the goodness of God. Remember, weeping is only a night but joy is on the way…
