Psalm 16:2 – “O my soul, you have said to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord, my goodness is nothing apart from You.’”
This psalm of David highlights the goodness of God to us.
1. EVERY GOOD THING I HAVE COMES FROM YOU – v.2
The text above says, “My goodness is nothing apart from you.” The NLT renders that verse, “Every good thing I have comes from You.” This same thought reverberates in James 1:17, which says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above…”
2. YOU MAINTAIN MY LOT v. 5
This simply means that God guards your stuff. Psalm 127 verse 1 is often quoted, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it.” But most stop there. What immediately follows relates to this verse: “Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” Unless God guards your stuff…
3. I WILL BLESS THE LORD WHO HAS GIVEN ME COUNSEL – v.7

When the Lord is that close you can be sure you will have stability in your life. Psalm 125:1 says, “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mt. Zion, which cannot be moved.” Where you goin’? NOWHERE!!! Can’t move this…
Take the last verse in this Psalm and just soak on it:
5. YOU WILL SHOW ME THE PATH OF LIFE
6. IN YOUR PRESENCE IS FULNESS OF JOY
