Day 10- Trust Him

Proverbs 3:5,6“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Uncertainty can be unsettling and disturbing.  There have been many times in life when I stood motionless not knowing which path to take or what decision to make.  I am sure I am among friends when I say this. Today’s One Year Bible reading in Proverbs is perfect for such a scenario.  It gives us three things to do and one promise. Trust in the Lord with all your heart.  The word trust means to be confident.  Be confident in God with all your heart.  God can make a difference, can make a way, can sustain you through difficulty, and can get you through to the other side.  Don’t panic.  Choose to trust Him. Lean not on your own understanding.  His ways and thoughts are much higher than ours.  Our understanding is limited to past experience and what we can see presently.  But God sees the future and there is a knowledge with Him that we don’t have, unless He chooses to reveal it to us.  Don’t rely on your understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him.  Make sure you include Him in every decision.  Embrace His Lordship over your life and give Him control by praying for His will to be done.  Ask Him to intervene in your life.  Bring EVERYTHING to Him in prayer. He shall direct your paths.  When you do the above, you can be assured of His direction.  When you resolve yourself to the will of God, He will cause your decision and action to be guided by His hand.  This is the promise we have from Him when we submit to Him as today’s devotional suggests. God wants to be involved in the details of our lives.  Trust Him, defer to Him, and acknowledge Him and know that you’re headed on the right path.  Don’t be afraid to take that step.  He’s big enough to make sure you go in the right direction.  Trust Him!
