Luke 18:1 – “One day Jesus told His disciples a story to illustrate their need for constant prayer and to show them that they must never give up.” (NLT)
There are two things that Jesus wants you to know. First, you need to be in prayer constantly. Constant prayer brings constant answers, constant power, constant victory, constant revelation, and most importantly, constant relationship. No wonder the enemy fights so hard to keep us from praying! Take note of what it is that hinders you from praying regularly. Be aware that the enemy of your soul wants you to get so busy that you will tell yourself, “I don’t have time to pray.” You will find time for all kinds of things but will never seem to find the time to pray. And that is why we are lacking in our spiritual growth, spiritual depth, and spiritual power. Be determined that you are going to pray no matter what!
Second, never give up! It was Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of Great Britain who, on October 29, 1941, coined these famous words while addressing Harrow School: “Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never — in nothing, great or small, large or petty — never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
Dear friend you cannot afford to give in — ever, ever! There is no need. God’s power is sufficient for you in the darkest times and in the gloomiest of circumstances. You most hold on. Help is on the way. Heaven has heard your plea and seen your tears. Don’t give up. Jesus has a master plan and will take this trial of yours and turn it into a testimony. Stay the course. The best is yet to come!
