September 22 – Got Strength?

Isaiah 40:28-31Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Years ago the band Chicago had a hit song called “Feeling Stronger Every Day.” The lyrics centered around the break up of a couple. The guy is recovering from the broken relationship and is “Feeling Stronger Every Day.”

For those of you out there who have been weakened recently through a broken relationship or a disappointment of some kind, listen to Isaiah for a moment: “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God…gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.” In case you missed it somewhere God is the source of your strength. Verse 31 is a classic. If we will learn to wait on the Lord we will increase our strength. That doesn’t mean we sit back and do nothing. It does mean we actively wait through prayer and faith acknowledging His control and Lordship of our lives.

Keep praying and believing and see if you aren’t feeling stronger every day!
