1 Kings 8:56 – “Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses.”
Failure is a human trait, which cannot be ascribed to God. His inability to fail is a source of confidence and trust in those of us who possess shortcomings.
The people of Israel are in the midst of a celebration. The temple is being adorned with the Ark of the Covenant and the people are enjoying peaceful times. Solomon declares, “Blessed be the Lord, who had given rest to His people Israel…” We have those seasons in our lives, don’t we? Seasons of war and turmoil and then seasons of rest. Rest had come as a result of God’s promise. As a matter of fact, Solomon goes on to say that “There has not failed one word of all His good promise…” And herein lies the subject of today’s text. God cannot fail; His word cannot fail; His promises cannot fail. Failure is not in God’s vocabulary. Jeremiah 1:12 tells us that God is watching over His word to perform it.
Be encouraged dear friend. Not one word of God’s promise will ever fail. He is faithful!
