Psalm 111
The theme of the 10 verses of Psalm 111 is the works of the Lord. The “works” is what He does and there are several descriptions listed that we should take note of.
“The works of the Lord are great…” (v.2) – No one can compare to the Lord and what He does and what He is able to do.
“His work is honorable and glorious…” (v.3) – Another translation says it this way, “Full of splendor and majesty is His work.” Simply amazing…”He has made His wonderful works to be remembered…” (v.4) – So incredible are His works that we recall them thousands of years later.
“He has declared to His people the power of His works…” (v.6) – God’s people are the guardians of the testimonies of God’s power.
“The works of His hands are verity and justice…” (v.7) – Verity is another word for truth and faithfulness. God’s works are proper and right.
We observe the works of the Lord through His creation, His miracles, His grace and mercy. His unfailing love and His salvation. We “bump into” His works every day. Don’t let today rob you of catching a glimpse. Don’t let the busyness blind you from something marvelous…and that is to see and know that God is at work.
