March 29th- Where Is Your Faith?

Luke 8:25“And He said to them, ‘Where is your faith?’ And they were afraid, and they marveled…”

Jesus is in a boat with the disciples on the Sea of Galilee and the boat is filling up with water…fast. A windstorm came down on the lake and circumstances changed quickly. Ever been there? “All of a sudden…” Things were going well…and then the storm came.

You’re making good money…and then the job falls through and you’re unemployed.

The business was cranking…and then the bottom fell out and you lost it all.

The marriage was fine…then the affair happened.

Life seemed to be going well…then the sickness came out of nowhere.

All categories are moving in the right direction…and then COVID showed up.

Your boat filled with water all too quickly and panic sets in. Verse 23 tells us they “were in jeopardy.” It’s not looking good. They frantically waken Jesus (yeah, He’s asleep! Can you believe it?) and He immediately calms the storm and then He turns to His disciples and we have verse 25, “Where is your faith?”

Life is fragile, fickle and can change on a dime (for my international friends that means that it can change quickly). And if your faith is in anything else but Jesus and His word, it will change on a dime as well. I’ve seen it many times over. When one of the above situations happens it reveals the answer to the question raised by Jesus. So my friend, where is your faith today?
